And just like that, we have started our annual accelerated decent into 2019 and shortly after that, Chloe's Birthday. Christmas, is, OVER!
But you knew that.
Christmas this year fell on a Tuesday this year so that means that the following Tuesday will be New Years, and the Tuesday after that is Chloe's(9th) birthday. When I tell you that this kid could not get another Harry Potter themed gift if she wanted too I'm sure I would be wrong. I know there are more to come. The good news is, all of the Harry Potter themed stuff is not offensive and for the most part very stylish and "in". Chloe provided Santa with a long list of items that she came up with shortly before visiting him. Even with such short notice, I think Santa was able to deliver a few items she seemed excited to receive. Also, Chloe has awesome grandparents(and regular parents) that sought out many amazing gifts for her. All I can hope is that she appreciates how lucky she is for that. =)
On Christmas eve(as is our usual tradition) we went over to my parents house to have dinner and open presents. When I was a kid, this was like the best part of Christmas because you actually got to open presents TWICE. Once on X-mas eve with one set of grandparents, and again on X-mas day with the other. Essentially, this is what we did and have done year after year. Christmas day we did the same general thing but at Heather's families house.
At home on Christmas day we all get up together and find out what Santa brought, then we open our gifts to each other, including Penny. I honestly believe Penny knows that unwrapping gifts means there is a new toy for her inside of the weird paper because she definitely gets excited to do it.
I've probably said it in past posts but Chloe is literally the funniest kid ever when it comes to Christmas morning. She is so good...she comes into our bedroom and does not just sneak out to the tree. She knows we like to see her reaction so she completely goes along with it, and I love that. This year, she came into our room, TOOK A SHOWER and got dressed and whatever before coming out to the front room with us. I could not believe it, she is something else. LOL.
Chloe got a lot of meaningful gifts which to me is exactly how Christmas should be. I'm thankful that she is happy with whatever she receives and I'm thankful that the things she does get are all things people knew she would really enjoy. At almost 9 years old, I don't think we have too many more years left of "reasonable" requests for Christmas, lol. What year do they hold their breath if they don't get the new Iphone X, or whatever. =P
Just a few pics of Chloe from Christmas. Thank you again to our parents for all the love and thoughtful attention...obviously not only through the holidays but, always.
Merry Harry Potter-mas to you all and to all a good night.
