The Great Wall Of Chloe - Jan 27

Baby gate: $90. Couch cushions: $0. Keeping Chloe contained in one room with couch cushions: Priceless.
Short of an expensive baby gate(which I'm thinking we might need at some point) my ghetto wall is helping me keep her playing in one room..she has not yet figured out that she can climb over lol.
This week..fairly uneventful for us however our good friends Matt and Amy had their baby on Monday. Her name is Delaney Grace and she is adorable. Pretty insane to think back just a year ago when that was us in the hospital going through everything they are going through right now. We visited them in the hospital and we're both so excited for them....and all that's in store. =)

We swapped Chloe over into her new car seat this week. She finally pushed the 22lb limit of our "infant carrier". I kept telling her leading up to the change "Chloe, that's your SEAT!" and she started going "seat" "seat". Now, when I put her in the seat she tells me "seat". Cool. =) She's gaining quite a bit of vocabulary..like she tries to repeat what you tell her but only a few things will she offer up words on her own. Pretty cool. Pretty soon we'll have our own little parrot on our hands.

Chloe Mae - 1 Year Portraits - Jan 21

I have to say it's pretty strange to pack up my camera bag and roll out somewhere to take pictures for..well..myself! Last weekend we actually got some nice weather and it was the perfect opportunity to take a crack at shooting Chloe's 1 year pictures...or 1 year and 1 week portraits if you want to get specific. =P I've had a vision in my mind for a while now of where I wanted to go and how I wanted the pics to look..which is quite the opposite of how I normally shoot but being for my own daughter I guess this is not my "normal" shoot. I'm really happy with how the pics came out and I have a few more ideas that will work better once she's actually walking so I'm sure we'll be back once that happens. Our biggest fight with Chloe and these pictures was the stupid hair bow. We put it in..she takes it out! Such is life so we take what we can get. =)

Where's Chloe?? THERE SHE IS!!!!!! =)

One Year(ish)- Jan 13

I don't know what it is about balloons but for some reason all kids love 'em. It's like, programed into their brains to enjoy the simplest things. Hey, who's complaining? =)
So last week was Chloe's first birthday party and it was a very unique experience to say the least. We have been to several first birthday parties in the last few years but it is an entirely different thing to plan and throw one of your own. It looks easy, it's not! Everything went great and it was fun to have a bunch of our friends and family there to celebrate with us. =)

This week was Chloe's 12 month check up with our pediatrician. She's in the 97th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight. I have to keep reminding myself that 50th percentile is *average* and not half size lol. She's healthy as can be and we are truly lucky for that.

Her favorite thing to do now..fly across the room to get the cat. She pulls up..I tell her NO..she looks back at me like "oh yeah??" then I pull her away. She doesn't even fuss because she knows shes not supposed to do it..it's now just a fun game to her =)

Happy 1st Birthday, Chloe! - Jan 8

Well it's official. Chloe is now a "one year old". Today was Chloe's party which was quite the overwhelming experience (for us, not her..ironically). We're all pretty exhausted but I wanted to share a photo of our little miss on her actual birthday! The awesome birthday hat was made special by our friend Shannon..thanks Shannon!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHLOE!!

364 Days - Jan 7

Exactly one year ago today we were up at 4am on our way to the hospital. We hadn't officially decided on a name for our baby girl and we had no idea what the next 24 hours would have in store for us. The next morning on January 8th at 9:22am, Chloe was born and our lives would be forever changed.

I can remember like it was yesterday the sound of her first cry when she came out, the way it felt the first time she looked at me, the first time I held her and tomorrow....we will be celebrating her first birthday. I can hardly believe it. I know people probably say this a lot but this last year has absolutely FLOWN by and yet somehow it also feels like the longest year of my life. I think back on all that we have been through and to think that is has ONLY been a year is amazing to me.

So for the 52nd Friday in a row I bring you some pictures of Chloe doing her thang. An official "1 year" photo session is coming soon. =) It's strange I have done several 1 year sessions for other people but to have to do it for my own daughter..man that's a strange feeling.

So Chloe has only been crawling for a little while now but has become really good at using this little push walker thing she got for Xmas(thanks Paula & Phil!)My guess is..it won't be to long before she figures out she doesn't need it
