Lumos! - Nov 30

4U4A7888Chloeblog-119_Proof

It's apparently become our tradition to spend "Black Friday" prepping for Christmas. While some people are camping out to save $40 on a big screen TV, we are at home sleeping and waiting to get up at a normal time but from the moment we are up, it's moving pieces transforming our home into a winter wonderland. I'm exaggerating, we just get down our tree and lights and go to town. LOL.

This year like most years past Chloe has been eager to help me to put up the lights outside and this year was no exception. I'm not sure why but she had it in her head that she really wanted to be able to come up the ladder and actually hang the lights. I was not super excited to open that door but I figured she's old enough and with some proper safety precautions it would (probably) be fine.

Tomorrow is Dec 1 so T-minus 3 weeks and a few days until Christmas and we got a lot to do between now and then. December 1 also represents 9 years from our first surprise hospital stay with 30 weeks pregnant Heather. It's a night and a day I'm sure we both remember quite clear. The good news about that is everything worked out in the end but it was a scary time for sure. More importantly now it means that Chloe's 9th birthday is just a few short weeks away. =)

Just some photos, as usual. Have a great weekend, folks~

Thanksgiving 2018! - Nov 23

20181122Chloeblog-4U4A7670_Proof

BLACK FRIDAY!! 50% OFF!!
Just kidding, nothing to buy here and if ask me, don't go out and try to buy anything either. Yikes. Yesterday was Thanksgiving which as we have discovered is ALWAYS on a Thursday. Usually by now I have had a nap but this year it just didn't work out. LOL. We spent thanksgiving this year with my family which of course means a day full of food and fantastic smells coming from the kitchen and also Brian on a diet trying his hardest not to look up the calories in everything. My brother came down with his Family so Chloe had a couple solid hours playing with her cousins which she always enjoys. The adults got to catch up a little and before you know it everyone's going their separate ways with leftovers. THANKSGIVING!

Just a few snaps from the day, hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving with whoever you managed to spend it with. T-minus approx 1 month until Christmas! If you know what you want and it's on Amazon, you're in luck. Send me your wish list. =)

Have a great weekend, folks~

Trotting Turkeys! - Nov 16

20181107chloeblog-4U4A5617_Proof

Every year at Chloe's school they do an event (usually) called "The Fun Run". The idea being I guess they sell t-shirts for the kids and the kids get people to sponsor them for how many laps they can run around the field. Basically, it's a fundraiser. Last year I purchased Chloe a t-shirt and she wore it exactly one time so this year, I forgot to get her one..on purpose.
Typically, this run event happens closer to summer. I believe last year it happened in May so for whatever reason they decided to move it up this year and make it officially a "Turkey Trot". November, Turkey, Thanksgiving..you get it. Either I wasn't paying attention or I just missed the communications about it because we didn't really get any donation pledges for Chloe but either way she ran with the kids and I went for a half hour to take pictures of it. There are lots of fundraising things happening so I don't feel that bad. LOL.

Anyway, as usual just a few snaps from the event which actually happened last week but it would seem I am running about a week behind. =)
Have a great weekend, folks~

Standing Tall This Fall! - Nov 9

20181027Chloeblog-4U4A3644_Proof

Imagine if I had a time machine and could go back in time 2 weeks to look at some photos I took. Well you don't have to imagine because photos are digital and I can just do that whenever I want, don't be silly. =P
Last week when doing my little post writeup I realized that I had an entirely separate card full of photos I forgot to download and that I would likely be posting them this week. It should then come as no surprise to you that is exactly what I have done here. LOL. We weren't sure when were were going to be able to get to the pumpkin patch and generally we like to go to the same place every year. The process is much less involved as the years go by but Chloe loves to look long and hard for the perfect pumpkin to carve. I'll admit it's always been part of the trip to have a little mini photo shoot with Chloe but that too has become less of a thing as time goes on. It feels like almost everyone at the pumpkin patch is there to take pictures of their kid but this time we noticed multiple instances of people shooting pictures of their DOGS. Interesting.

So travel back in time with me to a day before our pumpkin was rotting on the porch and moved to the trash can shortly thereafter. =)

Have a great weekend, folks~

Spell, C-A-N-D-Y! - Nov 2

4U4A4670chloeblog-106_Proof

Get it? Spell? Candy? Nevermind.

Well, welcome to November and that means that if you are reading this, Halloween has come and gone. This year marks another year that I had pretty much absolutely no part in curating. We might know from previous blog installments that I am not the foremost expert in all things Harry Potter(not even in the top 100). Chloe kind of went back and forth on what she wanted to be this year but at some point she decided on being Hermione Granger. If you're not familiar with that name then you officially know less about this Harry Potter stuff than I do. LOL.

Chloe was SUPER excited for Halloween this year. She was jazzed to go to school in her costume, she was jazzed to go around and trick or treat and she was jazzed to come home after school the day after and sort/count her haul. The funny/ironic/good thing about Chloe is that she will always ask to have a piece of candy here or there but I promise you(for the most part)this stuff is going to work with Heather for her co-workers to eat(or in the trash, eventually). I don't know if I would say she doesn't have a sweet tooth as much as I take pride in teaching her epic self control. If she has something, a little goes a long way. I've said it before but I've never seen another kid that will eat a sucker for 3 minutes and put it in a ziplock bag for later. It's always more the excitement of the action of trick or treating than the prize of the candy for her. Her dentist would be so proud.

Just a few photos to share this week of our usual Halloween adventures. I also just realized as I was writing this that I have an entirely separate memory card in another camera I forgot to download that has our pictures from the pumpkin patch. I guess tune in next week for a flash back post on that one. =)

Have a great weekend, folks~
