Tiny Dancer - Jul 25

FJ7C1976ChloeBlog-100

So a few months back we attended this fundraising auction thing for Chloe's preschool. It was a fun night, actually. We got to spend a couple hours out just as adults, there were some alcoholic drinks available and best of all, tacos. LOL Anyway, if you have attended something similar or know someone who has, you may have been told about the ability to get some pretty good deals on stuff. One of the things Heather bid on for Chloe was 4 weeks of dance class at a local studio. Neither Heather or I know anything about dance classes but we do know Chloe loves gymnastics so why not give it a shot? Well, turns out the thing we bought was for a very specific time frame and for some very specific class times so kind of last minute on Saturday Heather registered Chloe for this class and flew outta here to go check it out.

One of the things that I didn't care for right away was the fact that in this(and apparently other) dance classes the room is not viewable by anyone...so parents cannot even watch the class to see what they are doing. Hmm, OKAY. Well, I couldn't go anyway because I had a wedding to work but that certainly wasn't going to stop me from snapping a few pics of our (not so?) tiny dancer. LOL. Apparently she liked it and had fun so we'll see how the next few weeks go. Also, we now own tap shoes in her size so that should be the gift that keeps on giving here at home as well. =)

Have a great weekend, folks.

(p.s. she posed herself for all these pictures apparently by copying the flier from the dance studio)

Soccerketball - Jul 18

20140717chloeblog-FJ7C1872

Over the last few weeks my Dad has been up at our house doing some work in the back yard. The project started by tearing out a deck that literally was on it's last leg. Yikes. After helping remove some of the wood I finally got to see what real live termites look like. LOL. Anyway, as the transformation has moved into what I will call "phase 2", the deck is gone and what we were left with was actually a usable little patio area Chloe decided she wanted to kick a soccer ball around so we decided to give it a whirl in our new back yard. She was more interested in dribbling the ball like a basketball(which I'm not quite sure she could tell you the difference between basket ball and soccer) and throwing it up in the air but it was a nice night and a good excuse to snap a few photos while playing around..because that's what I do. (#annoyingdad)

Have a great weekend, folks.

(Lil' Miss) Independence Day! - Jul 11

20140704chloeblog-FJ7C8848

Last Friday as you know was the 4th of July. We have been invited the last several years to join in a tradition that some of our friends take part of which is this big block party in the neighborhood which they grew up. It's been a really fun thing every year especially for the kids since they all get to do projects and play together and with life and schedules there just aren't that many times a year when all the kids can see each other. Every year one of the neighbors takes the kids for rides around the court on this big 4 wheeler thing and this year Chloe was (i guess) big enough and brave enough to ask for a turn. She is basically fearless, LOL. Since San Ramon is stupid and they no longer have a fireworks show and fireworks are also completely illegal, we tagged along to my friend Chris's parents house (in Dublin where fireworks are legal). They lit off some random stuff in the street and Chloe got to do some sparklers, what else can you really ask for? =)

The weekend was jam packed although we did manage to spend a little time on Sunday doing some comparison shopping for Chloe on a new bicycle. I'm sure we have been thinking about it for a while but I think my recent blog post kind of sealed the deal. That and on the 4th of July Chloe brought her tricycle to decorate and when she rode it around she looked like a giant driving a smart car. We shopped on Sunday but didn't make a purchase and after a little more research at home we found ourselves back at Toys R Us on Tuesday to take it home. She has been practicing riding it every day although unfortunately they don't call our street "Rolling Hills" for nothin' so it makes it a little difficult but she's getting there. It should be fun and I can't believe we are already at the point of my kid learning how to ride a flippin' bike! Time is a flyin'. =)

Have a great weekend, folks.

Happy Fair(th) Of July! - Jul 4

20140628chloeblog-IMG_7921

I imagine by now you realized it's the 4th of July! If you live in San Ramon you might have forgotten because fireworks are illegal here and our city has decided it no longer is interested in having 4th of July fireworks. LOL.

Summer brings the fair and Chloe LOVES the fair. She went as far as to say that she wanted to live at the fair which to me is just a reason to make sure she goes to college. =) Last weekend we decided to hit up the fair before it got to hot and we hit all the usual spots. I would have said Chloe's favorite thing was the petting zoo but she somehow convinced Heather to go on the giant ferris wheel and she hasn't stopped talking about it since. This kid is not scared of anything.

Also, this week we have been trying to set up a little play date with Chloe and her "best friend" from her preschool Ella. They finally came over for a few hours on Thursday and Chloe was in heaven. They both absolutely share a love for all things "Frozen" so they spent a lot of time playing in dress ups and being "Anna & Elsa". There was a point where I thought they were fighting over a dress up item (Elsa's gloves) and Ella's mom noticed they actually were just acting out a scene from the movie Frozen!! It was the most hilarious and amazing thing I have ever seen. They both went LINE FOR LINE back and forth being the characters from the movie. I would not have believe it had I not seen it..and they did it probably a dozen times. It was cute to see how excited Chloe was to actually have a friend come to her house and hopefully we can see them some more throughout the summer. =)

Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
