Rainy Planes - Mar 28

20140327ChloeBLog-FJ7C6024

This freakin weather cannot decide what to do! Last weekend it was a solid 75 degrees..perhaps 80 in some places. This week we are back to having some rainy and cold weather and more seems to be on the way. Chloe and I have invented a new game to keep ourselves entertained indoors. We probably spent an hour throwing these styra-foam planes down our hallway the other day. The wings are covered in scotch tape because they have completely cracked(in several places). Doesn't matter. Still fun! LOL. Sometimes we have all these crazy toys and the funnest thing can be the $1 (piece of garbage) thing. =)
Have a great weekend, folks.

St. Paddy's Day - Mar 21

20140317ChloeBLog-FJ7C5997

Monday was Saint Patrick's Day which I'll be honest with you it's a holiday growing up I never acknowledged. I remember in school they told you to wear green or you were fair game to get pinched. Why? I still don't know. Something about leprechauns and for adults you are supposed to drink green beer or something and eat corned beef. I should know this. My wife is Irish. Hmm. Well, it was certainly a free for all on facebook Monday for people to flex their knowledge and remind us all that apparently its "Saint Paddy's day" and not "Saint Patty's Day lol. Chloe doesn't care either way she just knows about as much as I know. Leprechauns, gold, green, whatever. She doesn't go to school on Monday's so on Tuesday at school the teachers did a fun thing where they put a bunch of stuff all over the back yard and told the kids the leprechaun was being mischievous but somehow left all his gold behind and they put a bunch of little gold coins all over the yard. It was cute and the kids had a lot of fun. (I just happened to be working at the school that day so i was there) A mini photo shoot with our little leprechaun for this weeks blog post. Have a great weekend, folks!

Cherry Blossoms Ver 3.0 - Mar 14

20140308ChloeBLog-FJ7C4877

Funny how somethings accidentally become traditions. Who knows how long you can keep traditions going, accidental or intentional, but a couple years ago we took Chloe around the corner and I photographed her by these pretty cherry blossoms. Then, last year we decided to go back and this year you guessed it, we went back again. It's actually tricky because every year it seems like we get 1 really violent storm and it's always right around the time when these trees bloom the most. This year we had better luck but still only a finite window of opportunity to get pictures with the trees in bloom. Chloe was up for it and away we went. As I'm editing through these pictures for the first time I actually said to myself..."where has my little girl gone?!?" She really looks so different even though sometimes I feel like she looks exactly the same. The neat thing about this blog is that I just literally take two seconds and I can click back to March of last year and it's truly insane how much Chloe has grown in the last year.

On a completely unrelated note, happy belated birthday to my younger brother "Uncle Phil" and today is actually our good friend "Auntie Shannon's" birthday too so congrats to both of you on being old, and stuff.

Have a great weekend!

Firefighters! - Mar 7

VPP_BGP_03062014-150

On Thursday at Chloe's school had a special visitor, or shall I say a crew of special visitors! As small as the world is, one of the kids that goes to Chloe's school is the son of someone I went to junior high and high school with (albeit a year younger than I) who is currently employed as a San Ramon Fire Fighter. The few people reading this blog anymore will most likely recognize who I'm talking about. It was a surprise to the kids and they all were all super excited to see the truck pull in and they all sat attentively while learning about firefighters. He talked about 911 and the reasons why to call it, and then someone in full gear came in to show the kids if they ever are in a situation where they see someone dressed like that not to be afraid and to let them help. I've never seen most of these crazy little boys sit so still and be more quiet in all the months going to the school. Then, the kids got to go through a few at a time and actually walk through the truck and check it out! They started to take out the hose off the truck to let the kids take turns spraying the hose and they actually got a call and had to leave right away. Bummer! Actually, they came back about 20 minutes later and the kids actually did get to take their turns using the hose. What a cool thing for the kids and you could just see they were all in total awe. Every kid was given a little firefighter hat, too. Awesome.

The last photo is seemingly unrelated but I just wanted to toss in a cute photo I was able to grab of Chloe and her current "best friend" at school. Her name is Ella and she is almost 5 and in the older class(even though Chloe is a foot taller, lol). She moved here part way into the school year and literally on her(Ella's) first day Chloe and Ella became fast friends over their common interest in the movie Frozen. Ella introduced herself to me as "Elsa" and I went right along with it. =) They are really cute together and they both seem to really get along well!

Have a great weekend, folks!

Brian
