I Choose, Dumbo! - Oct 25

20131023Chloe-IMG_0484

It's October!

Halfway through October it's our wedding anniversary and we have been going to Disneyland in October for many years. We first introduced Chloe to Disneyland about 2 years ago when she was not quite 2 years old and we have been back several times since. Chloe certainly has her favorite rides picked out and without a doubt for whatever reason her go to ride is "Dumbo". It's so simple and it goes up and down while going in circles but she would ride on it all day if we let her. On our last trip down Chloe had surpassed the 40" mark which allowed her to go on all sorts of rides including a few we probably should not have taken her on (Space Mountain comes to mind). Chloe has no fear so if we take her through the line, she is getting on the ride at the end of it unlike some kids would cried and backed out at the last minute. My theory is, hey if she is tall enough to go on it, she has a 50/50 chance of liking it. Parental ride selection fail #2 comes in the form of "The Tower Of Terror" which Chloe went on and while she did not cry, she was shaking like a leaf and kept telling us afterwards "I didn't like that ride!". LOL. I haven't been on it in a while and to be honest with you I have a somewhat recurring dream about being in a falling elevator so you would think that of all people I would not want to go..but we went. It was scarier than I remember and I'm sure both Heather and I had a death grip on Chloe. We will revisit again in a few years..give her some time to forget. =)

We went on a few new rides and watched a few more shows then we have in the past. We spent some time meeting some characters which we don't normally do but Chloe seemed to enjoy that. Here are a few random pics of some of the things we did and saw over the course of our few days there. Have a great weekend...and it's almost HALLOWEEN!!

Picture Day! - Oct 18

20131015ChloeBlog-FJ7C9657

I know what you are thinking. Every day around here is picture day, right?

True.

Tuesday was the official school picture day and also our 7th wedding annviersary. What do these two things have to do with one another you might ask? Nothing. Nothing at all. It is strange to think, though, that 7 years ago we were getting ready to get married and on that same day 7 years later our daughter would be in preschool having her first class picture taken. Trippy. I have no idea how their pictures came out but I will report back after next week when we see them. I can say with some confidence that I am not interested in purchasing whatever they took but I think we agree on the purchase of at least a class picture. Here is a little sneak preview of our little anniversary gift...and Happy Anniversary to us!
Have a great weekend, folks.

Face Paint! - Oct 11

20131010_Chloe-FJ7C7007

The first time Chloe had her face painted was just a few weeks ago if you recall at the wind festival. She HATED it. She wanted it off right away and even had a bit of a melt down over it. We got back to the car and had to IMMEDIATELY wipe it off. Last weekend we attended a birthday party and it was a pirate theme(the 2nd this year) which I had no idea was so popular. LOL. They hired a chick in a pirate costume to come to the party and do balloon animals and face paint. She was actually really good! Chloe, to our surprise, wanted to wait her turn and get her face painted and the photos you will see are what she got. Pretty cool if you ask me.

We had a super busy week, actually. I worked in Chloe's classroom on Tuesday I/we were actually there on Wednesday and Thursday. I had to be there to complete a photo related project I volunteered to help with as part of a fundraising project for the school and Chloe, even though she is not a student in the Wednesday class, came with me and immersed herself right away with 30 kids she's never met before. This kid doesn't care where she is, she just wants to be friends and play with everyone. =)
Some random photos, as usual. Have a great weekend!

Field Trip! - Oct 4

20131003chloe-FJ7C4781

This week instead of our regularly scheduled preschool program on Thursday the class had their first official "field trip". Basically, instead of going to school they organized a trip to a local pumpkin patch where the kids could do something fun together. When they first mentioned field trips I had no clue how they were going to work that all out. Turns out it just means everybody brings their own kid somewhere, lol. Part of the experience included a "hay ride" as well as a maze and a HUGE box filled with CORN that the kids could play in. Super weird but actually quite awesome. At the end, each kid got to pick out a pumpkin, a gourd, and a miniature corn thing to take home. A pumpkin patch the size of two football fields pushed together and probably 2 thousand pumpkins I had no idea how Chloe was going to pick the perfect one. She showed us. She literally walked up to a pumpkin, picked it up and put it in the wagon and that was that. Sometimes we swear this kid is not related to us because neither Heather or I can make a decision to save our lives. Chloe, most decisive person I have ever encountered. LOL.

And a little bit of a shout out just wanted to wish Heather's mom and Chloe's "Gramma Pardi" a very happy birthday!! Have a great weekend, folks!
