On Thursday at Chloe's school had a special visitor, or shall I say a crew of special visitors! As small as the world is, one of the kids that goes to Chloe's school is the son of someone I went to junior high and high school with (albeit a year younger than I) who is currently employed as a San Ramon Fire Fighter. The few people reading this blog anymore will most likely recognize who I'm talking about. It was a surprise to the kids and they all were all super excited to see the truck pull in and they all sat attentively while learning about firefighters. He talked about 911 and the reasons why to call it, and then someone in full gear came in to show the kids if they ever are in a situation where they see someone dressed like that not to be afraid and to let them help. I've never seen most of these crazy little boys sit so still and be more quiet in all the months going to the school. Then, the kids got to go through a few at a time and actually walk through the truck and check it out! They started to take out the hose off the truck to let the kids take turns spraying the hose and they actually got a call and had to leave right away. Bummer! Actually, they came back about 20 minutes later and the kids actually did get to take their turns using the hose. What a cool thing for the kids and you could just see they were all in total awe. Every kid was given a little firefighter hat, too. Awesome.
The last photo is seemingly unrelated but I just wanted to toss in a cute photo I was able to grab of Chloe and her current "best friend" at school. Her name is Ella and she is almost 5 and in the older class(even though Chloe is a foot taller, lol). She moved here part way into the school year and literally on her(Ella's) first day Chloe and Ella became fast friends over their common interest in the movie Frozen. Ella introduced herself to me as "Elsa" and I went right along with it. =) They are really cute together and they both seem to really get along well!
Have a great weekend, folks!
Brian
