Big Girl Bed(room) - Nov 22

I have to say I think we might win the prize for being able to hold out the longest of any of our friends when it comes to moving Chloe from a crib to a bed. We really lucked out in the fact that Chloe NEVER tried to climb out of her crib. Then, we converted her crib into a "toddler bed" with some parts we bought when we bought the crib that basically has an opening in the front so she could get in and out but still basically had her using the same crib mattress. The 3rd and final step was to convert her crib into an actual bed with the conversion parts we also purchased when we bought the crib. Little did I expect that she would be essentially graduating into a bed our entire family could sleep comfortably in, lol. I pulled the parts down from the garage but until the mattress actually showed up, I had no idea how big a "full" bed was.

Heather and I also decided after almost 4 years of the same colors in Chloe's room it was time for a repaint. Originally we went with a soft, two tone green that can be seen in many photos over the years and while we liked it at first, we felt like Chloe had out grown it. Chloe LOVES purple. Basically, when we asked her what color she would want her "new" room to be, we knew she would choose purple and she did. In a cruel twist of irony, purple was the OTHER choice we were picking between when we originally were deciding to paint her room. We flipped a coin and chose two tone green over two tone purple and almost 4 years later to the day, I was repainting the room essentially the exact color we skipped the first time around. The world is funny that way and sometimes things just work themselves out. =P

So with a little elbow grease, some paint brushes and some furniture rearrangement Chloe has now moved in to her "big girl" room. It's so funny because she just takes up a little tiny portion of the bed but she really seems to like it! She likes making her bed in the morning and once again to our complete dumb luck, she stays in her bed even when she wakes up and waits for us to come in and get her. She's growin up fast!
