So we had our appointment today at Stanford...well not technically "Stanford" but at a children's hospital that is a division of Stanford. Whatever. It was largely uneventful in the sense that they really didn't tell us anything that we didn't already know (in regards to the hemangioma). The doctor (ahem, pediatric dermatologist) let us know that was in fact what we were dealing with and really at this point we had 2 treatment options. We could either do nothing and just wait to see how it progresses over the next month or two...or they could prescribe a cortisone cream of some kind that we could apply that apparently *could* help but there would be know way to know for sure. As with all things medicine it seems, it sometimes helps and sometimes does nothing..but you don't know unless you try.
So, we chose option 2 which was to get the prescription and come back in a month to see where we are. Apparently it will grow for a few months (and there is no way to tell how much)and then it will plateau(stay the same) and then start to regress. The regression can take several years for it to fully subside.
Anyway, that's all there is to that so I guess we're back in the "wait and see" boat.
SOOOO that all took way longer than we expected so here are a few pictures and a video of some things that happened today, lol.
Chloe chillin in the front seat of Daddy's Honda for the first time
A funny snapshot I took without even being able to see the screen on the camera. I don't know where this face came from =)
She also appears to be giving you the bird =p
And finally, a video we were able to capture of one of her "firsts"
