Smell My Feet! - Aug 29

20140828chloeblog-FJ7C1997

For a lot of kids this was their "back to school week". Not us! Chloe still has another week of summer then it's back to buisiness. Oddly enough, because of my involvement with the school she has probably been to the school so many times this summer she might feel like she never stopped going. LOL. I have have been extremely busy helping get the school ready for all the walk throughs, orientations, and of course the first day/week of school. Chloe has been a trooper these last few weeks and certainly now has a new found fondness of Home Depot. =)

This week, I decided to pull out a few lenses I haven't used in a while and figured I would snap a few pics of Chloe in my favorite spot of the house..not for any other reason except the light is just so good. She thought she was funny and kept rolling back and putting her feet in my face which at first was annoying and then it became a game and I quickly saw that her best expressions came from me holding her feet down and snapping away. You just never know where a good expression in a photo will come from. Oh, by the way, has anyone seen my baby girl?? All I could find was this kid who kind of looks like a grown up version of mine. Have a great weekend, folks.

Watch This! - Aug 22

IMG_7656

So if you recall Chloe has(had) been attending a dance class for a few weeks and she definitely was having fun. I found out early on that basically parents are not allowed to watch the class and they work inside a room with a closed door and blinds covering the windows. I don't get it but okay, they take it serious and distractions for a 4 year old are serious business. LOL. Well, one week out of the 4 that we went they had a "viewing day" and lucky for me I was able to come that morning. To my surprise, what they consider viewing was literally looking through a security glass with the blinds open haha so pictures were not really in the cards. The least they could have done is pull the blinds up so I could take a clear picture but nooooo. LOL. Anyway, I tried but didn't have much luck so here is the best I could do. Have a great weekend, folks!

Surrounded By Elsa - Aug 15

20140812chloeblog-IMG_8201

Judge us if you must but as I may or may not have mentioned before we renewed our annual passes for Disneyland this year and after shooting like 8 weddings in the last 7 weeks it was time for a small break in the action. We hardly ever actually go on vacation over the summer and this was kind of a last minute trip that we figured if Heather could get some time off work we might as well flex our passes and get in a few days at Disneyland. Let's just say it was hot and Olaf(the snowman from Frozen) would have certainly melted. LOL. The parks were definitely more busy than other times of the year when we have gone but we also noticed that the lines were actually moving in some cases faster. Best we could figure was they were actually operating rides with multiple cars/boats/etc so rather than having one ride operator and one ride they would have say 2 or 3 running at once. There was a lot of sweat involved and probably a few years but in the end it's always fun to go. We certainly spend our share of time doing things we have done before but each trip we always try to do something a little bit different than the last.

Two things of note would happen this trip. Chloe discovered the Matterhorn and LOVED IT(rode it 3 or 4 times). Number two, I finally braved the line which has been forever stuck at 120 minutes all day every day(and sometimes longer) to meet "Anna & Elsa" the two main characters and the two most popular characters in Disneyland or Disney anything for that matter. For once there were periods of 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minute lines so I said screw it..let's do it. I set a timer on my phone and I actually spent a full 1 hour, 30 minutes in line and IT WAS ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. 100% WORTH IT.
Chloe was ECSTATIC to meet them and I'll be darned if they(Anna & Elsa) didn't spend a solid 5 minutes talking with Chloe and joking around with her. It was the most amazing thing I have witnessed as far as meeting a Disney character and actually having them BE the character the whole time. Chloe was IN HEAVEN and it felt like it went on forever. If they would have just hugged and high-fived Chloe I imagine she would have been just as happy but I was really impressed and I imagine she was completely on cloud 9. Oddly enough, after MONTHS AND MONTHS of having ZERO "Frozen" merchandise available apparently the park got a huge shipment of Frozen Character dresses, wigs, tiaras, shirts, you name it. EXPENSIVE but literally flying off the shelves. I texted Heather while I was in like "I'm surrounded by Elsas" LOL because literally every kid in line had on a spanking new $70 Elsa(or Anna) dress. =)

So it was a quick couple days and while it was super hot we still managed not to melt and also have a little fun in the process.

Just a few pics from the trip and we'll be back again I'm sure soon enough. Have a great weekend, folks.

We Got A New Duck! - Aug 8

20140807ChloeBLog-FJ7C2972

So for the last few weeks/months/whatever we have had this ongoing project happening with our back yard. It started with the removal of an old, rotted out deck in the back yard. Then we had just a small cement patio(which I posted a few weeks ago Chloe playing out there) and now our new "Duck" has been completed. For whatever reason, Chloe kept calling the "Deck" a "Duck" so she was asking while they were working on it, "Is this our new Duck?" LOL. Well, it only took them 1 day but yes Chloe, this is our new Duck. =) Anyway, it's still a little way away from being finished but it looks good and it get Chloe's stamp of approval.

Have a great weekend, folks~
