A Bowling Party! - Feb 28

Last week, among other things, we attended the first of (what could be) several birthday parties for a new friend from Chloe's preschool. The party was at the Danville bowl and was really a bunch of kids from Chloe's class so she was in absolute heaven. She is so fond of her little friends and she LOOOVES school so to get to see her school friends OUTSIDE of school it was the highlight of her week, I'm sure. Add to that bowling and she was talking about this party ALL WEEK. Even her rusty old dad got to bowl a few frames.. =) It was fun and I managed to grab a few random photos so that is what I will be sharing this week. Have a great weekend!

The Giant Purple Tree - Feb 21

Every year around this time the most beautiful tree blooms just a few doors down from us. If I ever had a house, i want a tree like that. Of course I say that now but it's a leaf dropping S.O.B almost the entire year and I would probably want to kill myself for owning it. The tree blooms for like 2 weeks then it drops all of its flower petals or whatever they are and that's the end of it. I tried to get Chloe to come outside for some photos by the tree or heck IN the tree and she wasn't interested. She wanted to walk around and pick up the leaves and generally goof around. =) I got her to cooperate for a few photos, but mostly she just made faces and wanted nothing to do with it. LOL. I'll have to try again before I have to wait another year. Meanwhile, we are also waiting for the cherry blossoms around the corner to bloom so we can go over and get some shots again this year.

Happy Valentines Day! - Feb 14

Valentines Day. This is a holiday I have always said I am not a big fan of, lol. It's a "holiday" that Chloe has never really been aware of either and I'm still pretty certain she doesn't understand it however she now knows one thing: she definitely likes Valentines Day. =)

Valentines Day at her preschool meant she got to give out 31 little cards that she wrote on and received a ton in return. Some kids(parents) went a bit more overboard than others however Chloe LOVED opening all of her special cards from her classmates. In her classroom they had a Valentines party where they had face painting and who knows what else. It was just a fun day for her and after seeing how much she enjoyed it, I can dislike Valentines day a little less now, I guess. Hopefully I get to spend a low key evening at home with my two special Valentines and maybe, who knows, maybe I'll even get a card with a temporary tattoo inside it with some of those little heart candies with the ridiculous sayings on them. "Be Mine" LOL.

Jump Rope! - Feb 7

After having basically the driest winter in recorded history, this week we finally have been getting some rain. Chloe, without a lot of success, has been trying to master this jump rope. She has ended up using it to fish for things behind the couch(and various other uses that it was never intended to do) because she is 4 years old and that's just how she rolls. So it's cold and raining and we are stuck inside..so this happens. Have a great weekend, folks!

Echo, Bravo! - Jan 31

Well I don't know what the heck is going on lately but Chloe has been sick now twice in a row..with completely different things. I believe the same thing happened to me going from having some kind of flu with a fever, aches and all that horrible stuff and then just as that is almost over a completely different thing jumps in with a nasty cough and nose issues. Poor Chloe this week was struck with wave two. We had two back to back birthday parties last weekend for some friends kids which I can only imagine is either where it came from, or where we dropped it off with a bunch of other kids. LOL.
Anyway, unfortunately this leads to a very laid back week at home for us where Chloe and I chill on the couch and watch movies and stuff. I think we watched "Planes" 2 or 3 times(I still don't love it) but Chloe still does. As the week went on Chloe was feeling better so I waited to grab some photos of her just playing with her planes and having fun. =)
She still has a bit of a cough but she is feeling much better so hopefully it doesn't spread around our house as these things have been known to do.

I'm Not Very Good At Pictures! - Jan 24

I had my camera out and was taking some of these random photos of Chloe and I think she has apparently completely turned the corner into fake-smiles-ville. She is fully camera aware and it's starting to become more difficult to draw out a real smile. Of course I am never looking for the "cheeze" photo but it starts with that. The smile is in the eyes..if you don't have that, well..

I pointed out to Chloe that she was not really smiling at me and to my surprise she came up with the one comment I never would have expected. Kids say the darndest things, i guess. I'd say she's doing just fine. =)
