The (Angry) Birds Shirt - Aug3

DSCF0452Chloe-101

I've never quite understood why kids are fascinated with "Angry Birds" merchandise. They have an entire kiosk at the mall with stuffed animals, cell phone cases, you name it they have an Angry Birds version of it. If you are not at all familiar with it, Angry Birds is a super popular(and free) game you can download to certain phones and ipad/tablets and such when you shoot birds out of a catapult to knock down objects, gain points, and pass to the next level where it gets progressively more difficult. It's highly addicting. Chloe, like most kids, has been introduced to this game (by me) and is now actually quite good at it. I have a tablet so it's easy for her to play now. Anyway, fast forward to last week I was at Target(imagine that) with my friend Amy and I actually purchased a red shirt which Chloe for some reason kept calling it my "Angry Birds shirt". All I can figure is she saw a shirt there that had the birds on it(because you can't go anywhere anymore without seeing some kind of merchandise).

Fast forward to this week we found ourselves back at Target(shocking, I know) and I actually found a kids sized Angry Birds shirt(it's actually a Boys shirt, don't tell anyone) and figured "what the hell". =) Chloe has asked to wear her "birds shirt" every day, lol. Best $8 I've spent all week.

Have a great weekend, folks.

OHIO! - Jul 27

20120722chloe-IMG_9966

Yeah, just try to figure out what's going on there. =)

Let's just say it's a mixture of an outfit that Chloe is obviously to big for(I believe it's 18 months?) and a gift from Grandma. As a matter of fact they both are from Heather's mom and I'm pretty sure the outfit is one that originally belonged to Heather when she was..probably about 18 months old. (I have been informed that the outfit is actually a hand-me-down from Heather's cousin and actually belonged to her daughter, Addison. My bad!!!)Heather's mom actually went back to Ohio a few weeks ago for a high school reunion and returned bearing some new Ohio State "swag" for Chloe. For this weeks post I'm just going to post pics of Chloe rocking her Ohio State stuff...she loves it! Go Bucks!(like I follow sports...but I like to sound like I know what I'm talking about, lol). Have a great weekend folks~

I'm Driving! - Jul 20

IMG_9890chloeBlog-121

I love that Chloe is totally into cars. I mean, I get that because I'm into them and I buy her a million little Hot Wheels cars she would take a liking to them but still, it's cool. She has a big bucket of Hot Wheels cars(Heather said she counted like 58 which I can't believe..whoops!) but nothing really to play with them on so I stopped by good old Toys R us and picked up a little garage play set. I remember having something like it when I was a kid and I remember playing with it a lot..I'm sure it was sold at a garage sale for like 50 cents. 30 years and $20 later, Chloe now has one too. I'm pretty sure this one will be completely broken within a year but i guess that's just how things are made these days. She loves it, though. Totally gives her a new reason to play with her huge bucket of cars. =)

It has also(unbelievably) been another year since the annual downtown Danville car show and once again my dad was there showing his Triumph. We went along and Chloe had a blast checking out the cars(and people, and dogs, lol). She even was given a special sticker from a firefighter who asked her if she wanted to "drive the truck". What kid wouldn't love that!? Chloe kept saying, "I'm a junior firefighter!" because that's what her sticker(and the fireman)said. Super cute.
Have a great weekend, folks~

Listen Up Little Pup! - Jul 13

FJ7C0538Chloe-133

Chloe has never been big on watching tv shows or movies really with the exception of a brief moment when she wanted to watch Toy Story 3 over and over(after going to Disneyland). Even Sesame Street which is like a staple in any kids day she doesn't really care for. She loves Elmo of course but didn't want to watch any of the other parts of the show, lol. One morning I turned on the TV and on PBS (the same channel Sesame Street is on) was playing episodes of "Clifford The Big Red Dog" and Chloe loved it. They also have a show called "Clifford's Puppy Days" which she likes even more. Anyway, we don't watch it every day(although she asks to) but I was watching it with her last week and I happened to see a commercial for a special Clifford exhibit they were having at the Children's Discovery Museum and I knew immediately we had to go. I don't know if I have ever been to this place in my life but it's technically in Sausalito just on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Actually, it's right at the base of the bridge so you have a pretty cool view from almost anywhere in the place. In other words, it's not very close to where we live but what's a little a little adventure and frustration using a GPS taking you the long way through the city every once in a while, right? =)

We decided to go on Friday and it turned out to be the perfect day. Nice weather and almost no traffic going to and coming home from the city. It's a great place and I would totally recommend it to anyone with kids looking for something fun and interactive to do with their kids. Chloe LOVED the Clifford exhibit. LOVED IT. There were like 50 thousand other kids running around so as you can imagine it was a bit of chaos....but totally worth it. Here are some pics from our little adventure. Have a great weekend and enjoy~
