End Of The Month Chlo-Mega-Post - Jul 30

Another busy week for us flies by. Chloe has become a champ at sitting up with only the occasional spill backwards if she looks up at something and doesn't realize her head is heavy enough to throw her off balance lol. Finally got a pic of her little teeth poking through as well as a butt-load of other pics to share. On to the pics! Have a great weekend~

The Unassisted Sit Up - Jul 23

So this week has brought some changes. Last Friday Chloe had her "6 month check up" where they weigh and measure her as well as the dreaded shots. She's growing great and while I can't remember her exact weight it was almost 17lbs which is just "average" somewhere around the 50th percentile but for length she is in the 90-something percentile. She's doing great. Then came the shots and thankfully it wasn't as bad as I had built it up to be in my head. I physically felt sick while we were waiting for the lady to come in. Chloe definitely cried but to our surprise she was able to be calmed down pretty quickly which was not what I expected at all.

Of course for the weekend she was a little out of sorts but mostly just tired and she slept a ton. On top of that I think it was Sunday Chloe managed to jam my finger in her mouth and suddenly...there was a tooth! Not like a full blown tooth but a sharp nub breaking through on the bottom at long last. People have been accusing her of teething for weeks and she's finally cutting her first teeth. They say babies will typically match up to whenever the parents got their first teeth. Heather's mom looked up in her baby book that Heather's first teeth came in at 6 months too so apparently that's true.

Too Cool For School - Jul 16

This last week we celebrated two of our good friends kid's birthdays(Hailey, 3 and Riley, 1) and our friend Shannon thought she would be awesome and hook Chloe up with some shades in her goodie bag. =p She thought she was hot stuff and literally didn't even try to take them off. She want's to be nerdy like her dad but seriously, who doesn't?? Not a ton to report this week..she's this --> <-- much closer to being able to sit up on her own but still needs the occasional side to side stabilizer. She can't get into the seated position but if you sit her up she can chill there on her own but at this point we wouldn't leave her alone like that. A few more tries with the rice cereal this week and she doesn't seem to mind it as much anymore. Not as many terrible faces as the first time =p so we'll see how it goes. We have our 6 month check up today(Fri) which means more shots and cranky Chloe for the next few days if the last trip was any indication as to how things will go. NOT looking forward to that part at all. So now on to a few pics and I figured you missed our couch sooooo, our couch is back. There aren't that many as her "offical" 6 month photo shoot isn't quite done yet. Happy 6 Month Birthday, Chloe! - Jul 8

6 Months. Let that sink in for a moment. 6 Months! WHAAAT? I often tell people that time is just flying by but it feels like an eternity. It feels like a loooooong time ago we were sitting in the hospital nervous about Chloe being born. All the chaos and worry followed by relief and meeting our little bundle of joy. Since then we have had the unique privilege of spending more time than most day in and day out watching Chloe grow and change. She has gone from a little 5 pound peanut to a 16 pound tank. =) From a full head of hair to just (what people keep telling me) is a "Cupie doll" hair-do. From crys to smiles, poopie diapers that seem to leak in every direction to being thrown up on right in my mouth, we have loved every minute of it.

This week..today actually (Thursday) she turned exactly 6 months old and we thought it would be fun to give our first attempt at feeding her some rice cereal. It went pretty well and we have practiced a bit in the last few weeks putting her in the high chair and playing with a small spoon. We were not prepared for the hilarious faces she would make when getting the first "new" taste of her life. You'll see. =)
So 6 months down, many more to go. This week marked Chloe's first 4th of July celebration so you'll notice the clothing theme lol. Here are this weeks pics and thanks for reading.

Happy 25 Week Birthday, Chloe! - July 2

So we're just a few days short of being able to start saying "she's 6 months". I've decided from now on, I'm just going to refer to her in months and halves. Right now, she's "almost 6 months". =)
This week was our appointment with our eye doctor and it went as well as we could hope. 35 minutes of waiting to see the doctor for him to flash a light in her eyes for 2 minutes and tell us she's still fine. Then, I scheduled another appointment for 6 months from now where they will hopefully tell us the same thing. Today, I thought we had her 6 month checkup but it turns out I need to read my schedule more carefully. We actually have an another follow up appointment with the dermatologists at Stanford. I fully predict the appointment go exactly like the eye appointment. It's all good, though. No news is good news and I'd rather them tell us it's fine than tell us it's not. All part of having a baby. =)

On Thursday I reconnected with a good friend that I've known since high school. She and her husband recently had their first daughter who is just a month or so younger than Chloe. Actually, had Chloe gone full term they would only be 2 or 3 weeks apart. We had the opportunity to catch up and let the little girls meet for the first time. Much to my surprise, when we laid them down next to each other they almost immediately grabbed hands..it was the cutest stinkin thing I've seen in my life!
