Happy 16 Week Birthday, Chloe! - Apr 30

IMG_623116weeks-114

Well, here we are again. Friday. 16 Fridays ago, Chloe was born. With every passing week we are continually amazed at how much she changes. Pretty soon she will be sitting up, rolling over, crawling, driving, voting...wow. She has been officially been sleeping through the night for at least the last week or so but I haven't really said anything for fear of it not lasting. She has continually slept like 7-9 hours a night and we are loving it lol. During the day she is very awake and active..smiling, cooing, laughing and is just the happiest little bean. She especially loves being on the changing table. She stares up at the stuffed animals on the shelf above her and just coos and squeals! I actually recorded a video of her on my phone and yesterday decided to show Chloe the video of herself. To our surprise, she started talking to herself and cracking up!
I wish we could have got it on video...oh wait a minute we did:

So awesome.
Anyway, that's what's been going on lately and now on to some of this weeks pics. Our couch makes another appearance but she seems to like being propped up..so I go with it.

Happy 15 Week Birthday, Chloe! - Apr 23

Riley_9mos_web-109

How the heck does time just keep on flying by?? I look up, it's Friday again ALREADY! This time, Chloe is now 15 weeks old and man is she getting BIG. I don't know how much she weighs but I'm gonna say...50lbs? 100?? LOL. Probably more like 13 or 14 by now I would imagine but man that sure is a lot bigger than the little 6lb peanut she started out as. Last week our friend Sheryl came by with her now 9 month old daughter, Riley, so I could bust out some 9 month photos of her. Those are on my other blog if have a minute and care to see. But before we headed out we thought it would be neat to have a picture of the two of them together for size reference.
Chloe, not sure what to make of another miniature person =)

So there you have it. A little over 3 months old VS 9 months old. Hopefully they will be little friends as they grow on up.

Anyway, on to this weeks pics. I go on kicks with black and white so this week they are about 50/50.

For the first time ever she actually fell asleep in her bouncer..which is a big step considering a few short weeks ago she wouldn't use it for 30 seconds!

Happy 13 Week Birthday, Chloe! - Apr 9

chloe13week-100

1 for now, more later. Headed out the door right now. =)
*update*
Ok, so I lied. There is only going to be one photo today..but it was taken today so that should count for something. We had our 3rd appointment this morning at Stanford Children's Hospital with the dermatologist(s) to check the progress of the hemangioma. Last month they informed us of a medication that we might be interested is starting that would most likely cause the hemangioma to shrink and go away before her 1st birthday. With any medication there are always risks and side effects so we did some research and have determined at this point we aren't ready to try it for Chloe. Apparently this medication is very effective however in comparison to the hemangiomas some babies have, Chloe's is extremely minor and so long as they tell us it's not any sort of threat to her health, we'll just continue the course. The doctors seem to think/hope her's will be one that has already reached maximum growth and will plateau and regress sooner than later. We hope so, too.

In other news, it's taken 3 months but Chloe has her first cold. Actually, it really came on yesterday so pretty much 3 months TO THE DAY. She's been a trooper though as with everything else she has been through, it doesn't seem to phase her. Her nose is runny and she snorts when she tries to breathe heavy, and sleeping last night was...interesting..however she continues to smile and coo and aside from being a little cranky, she's taking it in stride. We bought a humidifier today on our way back from our appointment so hopefully that helps her breathe better tonight. Heather also seems to be sharing the same cold but cannot really take cold medicine since she is breast feeding..so she's also a little off her game as well. I'm unaffected(so far) but we'll see.

So after 3 months of raising Chloe (and to say 3 months it feels much longer than that) I think we would both agree that things couldn't really be going much better. It seems like the first 2 months were really the hardest..which I seem to remember my cousin Bonnie saying to me on Facebook. Actually, now that I think about it she may have said the first 2 weeks, but for the purpose of my story I'm gonna say she said 2 months. =) Between month 2 and 3..she really has changed tremendously. From all the noises she makes, to her interaction with us, going from crying whenever we would put her down to loving her swing, bouncer, entertainment mat, etc (in moderation, lol). I cannot believe it's only been 3 months. I'm sure we'll be saying that with every month as time goes by. We're loving every minute of it.

Have a nice weekend~

Happy 12 Week Birthday, Chloe! - Apr 2

Chloe_12week_web-166

12 weeks. What's that, like 3 months? Holy moly. I think I can speak for the both of us when I say this last month has included the most noticeable changes in Chloe. First of all, she's a tank. She's gotta weigh like 50 lbs by now (ok, more like 12 lbs, but she seems huge!). She has been making all kinds of cute noises and faces and generally is much more interactive. When we went to San Diego last week, our friends Mike & Cindy surprised us with a gift that Chloe absolutely loves. It's an entertainment mat with all sorts of things for her to look at and reach for. All of the pictures I'm about to post are taken with her on it.
She smiles up a storm now and something we have discovered since she is so smiley is a little dimple we didn't know she had. Her eyes have also taken on a beautiful dark shade of blue. So stinkin cute. =) Anyway, on to the pictures...taken just a few hours ago so you know they are legitimate 12 week photos lol. Enjoy!

Happy 11 Week Birthday, Chloe! - Mar 26(ish)

IMG_1148

So this week has been a busy one. So busy, in fact, that I was not able to prepare my Friday blog post that I have done for the last 11 weeks. A few days late better than never I guess. This weekend some friends of ours tied the knot in San Diego and we made the trip down with Chloe. This would be our longest car ride (which previously was about an hour) and we weren't sure what to expect. We planned to leave a day earlier and take our time driving down..not knowing how many times we would need to stop on what would otherwise be about a 7 hour drive. We loaded up the Element with just about everything we own and headed out.
IMG_1149
All in all we stopped twice and made the trip in about 10 hours. We stayed with our good friends, Mike and Cindy, who recently moved down to San Diego to get away from us. Nice try =) It was great being able to see them again as well as being able to introduce Chloe to everybody.

John & Erin's wedding was beautiful and they are headed out on their honeymoon literally as I type. We had a great time at the wedding and I'm sure Chloe looks forward to coming back to SD...soon. =)

Happy 10 Week Birthday, Chloe! - Mar 19

chloe_stpattysday_web-186

Well it's 3am and I'm up so I figure I might as well slap up a few more pictures from the week. Last week we had our follow up appointment with the dermatologist to evaluate the status of the hemangioma. It has grown in mass since the last appointment (which was obvious to us) but it doesn't seem to have changed much in the last 2 weeks or so..which was good news. Their advise was to continue the course with the topical stuff we have been using thus far but also advised us of another medication we might consider if we weren't satisfied with the progress or if we felt that it was suddenly getting worse. For now they are calling it "superficial" which means it's just on the surface and they are not considering it serious..."cosmetic" if you will so treatment is not necessary at this point unless we want it. With medicine comes side effects, so we have to decide it we want to try it or not. We have decided to wait at this point..at least until she gets a little bit older. There is a chance it may have reached it's plateau and may begin to go away which would be best case scenario...the least likely scenario but we'll see what happens.

So, 10 weeks has gone by and we have seen a lot of changes. Physically, her eyes have become a beautiful shade of blue. We always figured she would have blue eyes because both Heather and I have blue eyes, but it's still amazing to see them change. Her personality is showing up more and she is much more responsive and smiley..making cute little noises and generally much happier with simple activities like just chillin in her crib watching the mobile and kicking her little feet.
And with Saint Patricks Day this week, we had to put on some green and take some pictures. Of course. LOL.
