Happy 13 Week Birthday, Chloe! - Apr 9

chloe13week-100

1 for now, more later. Headed out the door right now. =)
*update*
Ok, so I lied. There is only going to be one photo today..but it was taken today so that should count for something. We had our 3rd appointment this morning at Stanford Children's Hospital with the dermatologist(s) to check the progress of the hemangioma. Last month they informed us of a medication that we might be interested is starting that would most likely cause the hemangioma to shrink and go away before her 1st birthday. With any medication there are always risks and side effects so we did some research and have determined at this point we aren't ready to try it for Chloe. Apparently this medication is very effective however in comparison to the hemangiomas some babies have, Chloe's is extremely minor and so long as they tell us it's not any sort of threat to her health, we'll just continue the course. The doctors seem to think/hope her's will be one that has already reached maximum growth and will plateau and regress sooner than later. We hope so, too.

In other news, it's taken 3 months but Chloe has her first cold. Actually, it really came on yesterday so pretty much 3 months TO THE DAY. She's been a trooper though as with everything else she has been through, it doesn't seem to phase her. Her nose is runny and she snorts when she tries to breathe heavy, and sleeping last night was...interesting..however she continues to smile and coo and aside from being a little cranky, she's taking it in stride. We bought a humidifier today on our way back from our appointment so hopefully that helps her breathe better tonight. Heather also seems to be sharing the same cold but cannot really take cold medicine since she is breast feeding..so she's also a little off her game as well. I'm unaffected(so far) but we'll see.

So after 3 months of raising Chloe (and to say 3 months it feels much longer than that) I think we would both agree that things couldn't really be going much better. It seems like the first 2 months were really the hardest..which I seem to remember my cousin Bonnie saying to me on Facebook. Actually, now that I think about it she may have said the first 2 weeks, but for the purpose of my story I'm gonna say she said 2 months. =) Between month 2 and 3..she really has changed tremendously. From all the noises she makes, to her interaction with us, going from crying whenever we would put her down to loving her swing, bouncer, entertainment mat, etc (in moderation, lol). I cannot believe it's only been 3 months. I'm sure we'll be saying that with every month as time goes by. We're loving every minute of it.

Have a nice weekend~
