The Toy Box - Nov 5

20101031-IMG_0033

^^^ "Well, one of us is gonna have to change" lol
This week will mark the end of Chloe being 9 months old and she is trying her absolute hardest to get around on her own. Literally this last week she has made her intent to be mobile known and I'm thinking it won't be much longer until we will look up and find her around the corner and half way down the hallway.
This week she is obsessed with the "toy box" and what started out as fun to hang on to she has now figured out how to pull herself up so she can pilfer the contents and toss them on the floor. Our friend Shannon and her sister Sheryl both have the same ottoman(toy box?) at home and I've seen their kids toss toys out of them for the last few years. There must be something preprogrammed into a kids brain that says "toss everything in here, out". =)
This past week was also Chloe's first Halloween and if you saw the pics from last week she was to be a "duckie". We ended up spending Halloween hanging out with our families due to an unfortunate outbreak of a flu-like sickness with a few of our friends and their kids. Chloe got to wear her costume for a little bit, take a few pictures, show everyone she's cute and that was the end of that. =) Next year will be awesome when she'll almost be 2 and definitely into it.
Here are a few pics from this week. Have a great weekend!

One Of A Kind - Oct 29

20101027-IMG_2544

Not much new to report this week except Chloe has cut through another tiny tooth on the top bringing the grand total (that we can see) to 6. Two on the bottom and four on the top. She has also decided this week that sitting down playing on the floor is not that fun anymore so she wants to pull up on me or the couch and see what else there is to play with within reach. This weekend is Chloe's first Halloween although we aren't going to go around collecting candy (I won't turn down a tootsie roll if you got one) we are going to go out with some of our friends and their kids which will be fun. Chloe is going to be a...well you'll see. =) Have a great weekend~

The Pumpkin Patch - Oct-22

20101020-IMG_1932

So in Chloe's first 9 months of life there are 2 things that we are certain Chloe does not like. Pureed meat baby food, and pumpkins. The first time we tried to feed Chloe the baby food meat in a jar she literally started making the dry heave face and if she could figure out how to spit her food out I assure you she would have. About a week ago I brought home a pint sized pumpkin from the grocery store for Chloe and she...HATED it. She cried hysterically every time I tried to show it to her, it was the strangest thing. Lucky for us her first time seeing a pumpkin wasn't when there were thousands of them around (and most of them bigger than she is). Over the course of the last week I have been exposing Chloe to the pumpkin a little bit every day to now she's at the point where she forgot she didn't like it anymore.
This week Heather took off a few days from work so we decided it would be a good time to hit up the Pumpkin Patch with Chloe. She..didn't love it..reverting back to her strange hatred of pumpkins but after a while she came around. =)
We also had Chloe's 9 month check up on Thursday and everything is great. She almost weighs 20 lbs now, she had her test for anemia (where they prick her big toe) and she didn't even notice. We thought we were gonna get out of there without shots but it was not meant to be. She ended up with a flu shot. Chloe is such a trooper with shots. She continues to amaze me with her tolerance for pain. She continues to amaze me(us) in pretty much every way. =)
So here are this weeks pics in a semi-documentary of our trip to the pumpkin patch. Enjoy~

Brian & Heather, Sittin' In A Tree - Oct-15

wedding

K.I.S.S.I.N.G.

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage. How I can still remember that is beyond me however, truer words were never spoken. =)

It's been a fast 4 years. There are certain points in time I can refer back to like it was yesterday. One of them is definitely our wedding. I always knew Heather would be my wife and someday the mother of our child. Getting married changed our lives and having Chloe has set our course for the future. I am so happy to celebrate our anniversary this year with our beautiful(and rapidly growing) little girl. =)

Have a great day!

9 Months - Oct 8

20101004-IMG_9746

Well, another milestone has been reached. 9 months (to the DAY) later, our little Chloe is...well not so little anymore. I was talking to Heather the other day and we both were remembering some of our friends kids when they were 9 months old and neither of us can believe Chloe is now at that age. The number one question we keep getting asked: "Is she crawling yet??". No. No she's not. =) But pretty soon she will be and then we're screwed lol. She's been getting into position and she's able to rotate herself around in a circle but she hasn't put it all together to move forwards. She's fascinated with particular things that I think will be her motivation to crawl. One of those things strangely is our TV remote. The other? The cat. She has become crazy strong now being able to twist and reach for anything she lays her eyes on and she will grab my shirt and pull herself up to get to whatever it is I have.

I don't have a photo of it but her top teeth are starting to poke through and she has been chomping her bottom teeth together so she can hear/feel them..it's creepy lol. I was telling Heather in a few of these pictures all of the sudden I feel she has really changed in her appearance. Speaking of, last week I took her to Stanford to have another follow up appointment to check out her little spot and they have assured us that everything looks great. Slowly but surely, it's on the way out. Unfortunately, on it's way out still means many months (or possibly a few years) it will be all but gone. Luckily, as she grows everywhere else it simply becomes less and less noticeable. It seems that grocery store checkers are the ones to ALWAYS ask "what happened to her eye!?". I don't even notice it anymore to be honest with you. When it's gone, it's gone. The best part about it being gone will be not having to try and explain what a hemangioma is in 3 seconds or less to total strangers that won't remember or care no matter what I say lol. =)

So just a few pics for now, at some point this month I'll try to figure out her official "9 month-ish" shoot. I have some ideas.
Enjoy.
