It's not supposed to be 106 degrees in October, in Anaheim, but it was. Oh, but it was.
So.
Hot.
Well, after a lot of thought and debate, we made the decision to renew our Disneyland annual passes one more time. Our passes actually expired back in May and since there was no financial incentive to renew at that time, we decided to let them expire and revisit the issue the next time we ended up wanting to go to the parks. We typically have made a trip in October around our anniversary so it made more sense if we were going to have a year to year pass, might as well go in October which will allow us to go again throughout the year and make our final trip again next October. I'm not exactly sure when the whole "Star Wars Land" thing is supposed to open, but we have a feeling once that is open, the crowds are going to be unbearable so in all likely hood, this will be our last year with the annual passes.
Our typical trip down has been a Sunday through Wednesday thing and this trip was no exception. Sunday was hot when we got there but the parks were reasonably mellow so we had some dinner in the parks, hit a few rides and called it a night. Monday morning we headed to the park around 9am and it was already 90 degrees outside with a posted high for the day expected to reach 105. I'm told it was a record heat day for Anaheim. The parks were pretty busy but not nearly as bad as our last few trips for sure. We ended up paying for the new "max pass" feature which now allows you to book "fast passes" for almost all of the rides from your phone using the Disneyland app. It took a little messing around with but once we got the hang of it, we were able to effectively do everything we wanted to do with relatively little waiting in line. Highly recommended.
Tuesday the parks were closed a bit early for the whole Mickey's Halloween Party thing which we don't take part of. Even with annual passes, it's a separate ticket price which you have to buy well in advance of the day and it's just not worth it for us. Because of that, the parks were extremely low attendance that day which that combined with the "max pass" app thing, we really were just walking on to everything without wait. It was unfortunately around 105 degrees again on Tuesday which certainly made for a sweaty day for all of us.
All in all, despite the heat, we got in all of the rides we wanted to do and with the aid of the occasional ice cream and lots and lots of water, we survived another trip to Disneyland. On the last day, I convinced Chloe & Heather that we should do the new "Guardians of the Galaxy" ride which is what the old "Tower of Terror" ride was with a new theme applied. I would have to look back to see when we went on the Tower of terror ride but to our memory Chloe was probably 4 or 5 and she absolutely hated it. She was tall enough to go on it so we took her on it and she HATED IT. We felt like bad parents for sure on that one, LOL. Somehow I had a feeling after a few years and a lot more experience with bigger rides(and the fact that the upside roller coaster was her favorite ride) I convinced them to go on it. All throughout the line both Chloe and Heather were still psyching themselves out. Once the ride was over, what do you think happened next??
If you guessed that we ended up going on the ride 2 more times in the next 2 hours, you guessed what I wouldn't have guessed. Yep, Chloe has a new favorite ride! I have to say, I was not a fan of the falling elevator theme of the old Tower of Terror but even though this ride is essentially the same, the theme makes it way more fun. So many people were upset when they took out the tower of terror but in my opinion, it's a winner.
Lost of random pics from the trip, as usual.
Have a great weekend, folks~

Monday morning: this is just the security line, not even to get into the parks!
