My Heart Shines For You! - Feb 13

It's almost Valentines Day and this week Chloe got to celebrate with her friends at school. They have been making things and decorating things for a few weeks now and on Thursday the kids got to exchange Valentine's. They also got to have a little class "party" instead of doing their regular circle time routine which involved face painting, decorating cupcakes(which they baked last week and froze), musical chairs, and other various activities. I ended up working in the classroom so I brought my camera and here we are. =)

In other news, since last week I do have some sad news to report. We ended up having to put our Kitty to sleep earlier this week after her health took a sudden and significant decline. She basically stopped eating and only drank small amounts of water. While she has been on some medication and we were told a couple months ago that she probably only had a couple months left, she made such a dramatic improvement over the last time this happened (right around the time when we got Penny) we never expected her to go downhill so quickly. The vet confirmed she had some kind of cancer and rather than wait for her to starve herself to death we made the difficult decision to "send her to Heaven", as Chloe says. So while the cat was known to bite the crap out of you from time to time, she definitely was Chloe's Kitty and the house is suddenly more empty than it used to be. I can still remember vividly this cat which I thought at the time was just a kitten sleeping in our front yard (when we lived in Pleasanton) and her coming up to me and trying to sit in my lap on the driveway. I remember when Heather started feeding the cat and i remember when the cat forced herself into the house despite Abbey's best attempt to bark at her. Kitty absolutely did not care about dogs and was seemingly not scared of anything but she knew for sure she wanted us as her family. As much as I may have complained about the cat I certainly am happy that we had her. I hope that we gave her a better life than she might otherwise have had. =)

Have a great weekend, folks. -B
