Happy 18 Week Birthday, Chloe! - May 14

IMG_8853mothersday-105

Well, week 18 of life with Chloe was full of interesting events. First, Heather got to celebrate her first Mothers Day on Sunday which was fun. Monday, not so fun. Chloe had her "4 month checkup" at the pediatrician which meant more shots. First, they weighed her at just under 14 lbs (cant remember exactly) which puts her in like the 56th percentile for weight. See, I thought when they said "50th percentile" that meant like she was half what she should be but as I found out a while ago that just means "average". Anything above 50% would be above average and anything below, well duh. Her height was like 25 inches which puts her in the 75th percentile for height..so she's on track to be tall like her dad. =) Remember, these percentages are based on a "full term" baby and Chloe was 5 weeks early. That more or less means that she is pretty caught up in size which is a great thing.
So then there were shots..and it was pretty much terrible. The first time at 2 months, Chloe cried but was pretty easily distracted right after. This week, she cried like we have never heard or seen before and she had tears running down her cheeks. The lady gave her the shots and I didn't even notice her leave. Heather and I looked at each other and both of us had tears in our eyes..it was that bad. The rest of the day was touch and go and she was not happy to be anywhere or do anything. She's much better now, but man oh man. Adding insult to injury they are replacing the roof(s) on our place and all week it sounds like a war zone over here so we've been dealing with some stress lol.
The good news is we had another dermatologist appointment today to check on the Hemangioma and they say it has not changed since our last visit. The plan is to ween off of the topical thing they have had us using and hope it's just gonna stay the little dot that it is and go away on its own sooner than later(or should I say sooner than average). The downside to that is, it could take until her 2nd birthday to go away but I guess that's progress we'll have to wait and see.
So not that many pics to share this week just a few from a shoot we did together last week. Have a great weekend!

You may recognize this dress seen here:

as the dress that Heathers' mom got for Chloe before anyone even knew if she was to be a girl or a boy. It has been a decoration in her room since before she was born and she finally was able to wear it for the first time on Mothers Day. =)
