Earth Day! - Apr 28

Last Saturday was "Earth Day" and the whole week prior Chloe was learning in school various things about conservation and recycling, etc. She came home from school and was practically begging me to get her a box for a bunch of things she wanted to donate. She also wanted to discuss with me ways to conserve water. LOL. So throughout the week, Chloe kept finding things she wasn't going to use anymore or could not wear anymore and continued to fill a box with things. Kind of coincidentally, I went to Target and they were having an event where you could turn in used/expired car seats in exchange for a coupon toward the purchase of a new seat. This reminded me that we still had Chloe's original car seat stored in our garage and at this point it is long since expired. I spent several hours in our garage moving things around and on Friday we went with Chloe to "recycle" the car seat. I thought it would be interesting to grab one last photo of Chloe in the car seat knowing that I could flip back in my own blog and compare it to the first known photo of her in it while still in the hospital. I believe in that photo she was 2 days old and they had to do a "car seat stress test" while being hooked up to monitors and sitting in there for a certain amount of time.

We all know these darn kids never stop growing up but it's always interesting to have the visual reminder of just how much things have changed. In my mind, she is like forever 3 years old...until she stands next to something and towers over it or reaches up for something in the upper kitchen cabinets and gets it without bringing her stool. Crazy. =)

The Triple Egg Hunt! - Apr 21

Last weekend of course was Easter and we all know what that means! Or I should say perhaps we know that that means to a kid, EASTER EGG HUNT! lol
Last weekend through the general process of life and schedule, we ended up doing Easter celebrations both Saturday & Sunday with Heather's family and my family, respectively. Chloe was excited to see everybody I'm sure but clearly most excited to hunt for Easter eggs(and get treats). =)

It's fun to click back from a year ago and see the photos I took last year especially to see how young Chloe looks. Last year, she was missing a bunch of teeth and kind of sporadically wore her glasses. This year, she has most of those teeth in place and while she still will sometimes go without her glasses, she definitely has a tan line on the side of her face when she takes them off. That is to say that most of the time, she is wearing them and with her latest frames she just looks..older. Also this year, she somehow got it into her head that maybe she could make a list of things that she wanted the Easter bunny to bring her. I could not get her to answer where she heard such a thing, so I told her that's not how the Easter bunny worked(although I did not and still do not have an explanation as to how she things a giant bunny comes to her house and leaves things for her in a basket but I digress). She made her list and for the most part she was probably fairly disappointing that most of the items did not arrive on Easter but hey, I tried to tell her. The weekend threatened rain however we were able to get through the general outdoor activities without issue so, that was a bonus.

Hard Boiling! - Apr 14

Easter. The holiday that never falls on the same weekend and apparently, it's this weekend! In case you didn't know. =)

This year, as with years past, Chloe is super excited to decorate (and hunt for) Easter eggs. She's pretty familiar at this point with how to set up all the egg dye and whatnot. I made sure we had that little kit you probably have seen at the store on hand and last night Chloe helped me with the whole hard boiling of the eggs and then we waited for Heather to get home to do the dye part. The process is similar to years past with the exception that Chloe is now old enough and tall enough to manage the hard boiling process herself. And of course, PHOTOS!
