Last Saturday was "Earth Day" and the whole week prior Chloe was learning in school various things about conservation and recycling, etc. She came home from school and was practically begging me to get her a box for a bunch of things she wanted to donate. She also wanted to discuss with me ways to conserve water. LOL. So throughout the week, Chloe kept finding things she wasn't going to use anymore or could not wear anymore and continued to fill a box with things. Kind of coincidentally, I went to Target and they were having an event where you could turn in used/expired car seats in exchange for a coupon toward the purchase of a new seat. This reminded me that we still had Chloe's original car seat stored in our garage and at this point it is long since expired. I spent several hours in our garage moving things around and on Friday we went with Chloe to "recycle" the car seat. I thought it would be interesting to grab one last photo of Chloe in the car seat knowing that I could flip back in my own blog and compare it to the first known photo of her in it while still in the hospital. I believe in that photo she was 2 days old and they had to do a "car seat stress test" while being hooked up to monitors and sitting in there for a certain amount of time.
We all know these darn kids never stop growing up but it's always interesting to have the visual reminder of just how much things have changed. In my mind, she is like forever 3 years old...until she stands next to something and towers over it or reaches up for something in the upper kitchen cabinets and gets it without bringing her stool. Crazy. =)
