Mommy, I Saw Elsa! - Oct 31

20141030ChloeBlog-FJ7C2746_Proof

Happy Halloween!

Yesterday was Chloe's day to celebrate Halloween at her school and by doing so, the children were allowed to come to school in their costumes(if only for a little while). I thought for sure there were going to be half a dozen "Elsa's" running around but to my total shock, Chloe and one other little girl were the only ones! The cutest thing one of the parents came up to me after and said their other (younger) child came up to them, pulled on their shirt and said "Mommy, I SAW ELSA!" and pointed to Chloe. Cutest thing I have ever heard. I think the little girl might have been 2 or something but it's insane to me to think that kids not only cannot seemingly distinguish the difference between an animated being and a person in real life but 2 year olds thing a 5 year old is Elsa! LOL. The parade route consisted of a walk basically down a path in the back yard with parents lining either side. Camera photos were snapping photos and video as the kids walked by chanting "happy halloween" over and over and over and over and over again. =) It was cute and then right after that we had to remove the costume and take them home. lol.

The kids were treated to carnival style little games, face painting, cookie decorating and other fun stuff. I grabbed a few photos of what I could but certainly I will get better photos of Chloe with her full costume getup. I know it comes as no surprise to see that she is going to be one of the most hardcore and serious Queen Elsa's around. Tonight, we will try to get in some trick or treating with friends as per usual however we may be thwarted by the weather. Rain or shine, we are going trick or treating! This kid has way to much time and (our) money invested in this costume to give up for a little bit of cloud water.

Have a great weekend~
Brian

Diwali Day - Oct 24

IMG_9201ChloeBlog-100_Proof

Ever heard of Diwali?? Nope? Me neither. It's an Indian holiday and I'll be honest with you I still don't know what it's about but this week in Chloe's school one of the parents asked if they could come decorate the school and teach the kids about "Diwali". The kids seemed to really get a kick out of it but for me unfortunately I was working on other things at the school so I'm still less educated about it than the kids are. Chloe literally wore her "Bindi" (the jewel on her forehead) all day. Have a great weekend!!

Halloween Magic! - Oct 17

IMG_9019Chloeblog-192_Proof

Yeah, I know. Disneyland!! =)

We have been going to Disneyland in October for a long time now(even before Chloe was born). Heather and I just celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary on Wednesday and what better way to spend it then with our crazy pants little 4 year old daughter in the happiest place on earth?!? October means the park is festively decorated for Halloween and they have some other special things to see and do. We pretty much did our "usual" things but we always try to mix it up a little and try a few things we didn't do the last time. Funny how Chloe always wanted to immediately go on the carousel and/or the Dumbo ride as soon as we got into the park and now literally the first thing she want's to do is the Matterhorn. I've been on it a few times and I actually don't like it that much lol so I make Heather go on it with her. I think this trip they probably did the Matterhorn no fewer than 5 times. I did it once. LOL.

So it may all seem familiar if you have seen any of our trips before but here are some snaps from our quick little getaway this week. Happy Anniversary to my beautiful and amazing wife and mother to our child...I love you more with each day that passes. =)

Everything Is Awesome! - Oct 10

2014-09-30 14.08.16_Proof

Legos. One of my most favorite toys to play with when I was a kid because you could just build stuff. I will never forget my cousin Patrick had the most Legos I have ever seen a human have in my life. I truly had no idea these little buggers were so darn expensive but I digress. Last week we finally were able to watch "The Lego Movie" and although I was the one who wanted to see it, it's a movie made for kids so we all watched it together. A really well done movie and Chloe really liked it. She doesn't seem super interested in the actual legos in real life but perhaps when she is older who knows. I'm pretty sure Legos is how I became interested in R/C cars because you could buy these lego kits and you would have instructions and after a few hours of sorting tiny pieces and putting them together, you end up with this model that you don't really want to take apart but you can't really play with either. LOL. Anyway, I have been SUPER BUSY this week I had two weddings last weekend and this week I literally did not unpack my camera bag at all. I have decided I'll share a few photos I took this week with my phone! Have a great weekend, folks. =)

Pick'n Pumpkins - Oct 3

FJ7C8660Chloe-143_Proof

Yesterday marked the 2nd annual "field trip" to the pumpkin patch with Chloe's school class. I say "field trip" because everybody basically drove themselves there instead of having school and that was the excitement for the day. It was at the exact same place as last year the only difference being Chloe was now part of the "older kids" class. The school year has only been going on a little over a month and Chloe has already found a couple new little friends to play with(and get in trouble with, lol.) She is certainly the "ring leader" as she has been called before by both myself and a couple other parents who have seen her in action. It's cute, though, to see that she is able to make such fast friends and hopefully that's something she can continue to do as she gets older. Last year the girls in her preschool class would essentially tolerate each other in pairs and this year they seem to be allowing groups of 3 or 4.

So we got to do the hay ride, Chloe got to swim around in the gigantic corn box(which turned her into a dust ball we literally had to give her a shower when she got home.) pick out a pumpkin and play with her friends. I'm sure since it's only the beginning of October this will be one of many trips we make to a pumpkin patch. Happy Friday!!
