Chugga Chugga Choo Choo! - Jun 29

Week two of swim lessons has come and gone and Chloe is doing great! I think they did a lot of the same stuff again but one thing that Chloe really likes to do(and is quite good at) is what they call "Chugga Chugga Choo Choo" in class. Basically, where you hold on to the edge of the pool with two hands and slide yourself around the edge. I guess in class they actually make the sound..and I know now that I said that you just did it in your head. =P

We also had a surprise visit from Chloe's friend Logan last week so that was fun. I always enjoy seeing these two play together. The last time we saw them they each took turns transferring all of Chloe's hot wheels from one basket to another so as soon as I mentioned seeing Logan all Chloe would say was "Wanna play cars with Logan?". Lol. I told Erin(Logan's mom) that as soon as Chloe woke up from her nap she didn't even get to her feet in the crib before she said "Wanna play with Logan now??". It's cute, come on.

So as usual, here are some pics from this week with an added bonus..I picked up a waterproof digital camera. It was on sale at Costco and I've had my eye on one for a while now and being that Chloe is probably going to be glued to the pool from here on out, I thought it would make for some interesting shots. I Can Swim! - Jun 22

Well of course not...not yet, anyway. That doesn't stop Chloe from happily exclaiming "I can swim!" when we get into the pool, lol. When we swim in our community pool we have this awesome arm/chest floater thing Chloe wears so she can confidently float and kind of putter around but last week as I mentioned would be our first official swim lesson. It's something I have wanted Heather to be able to do with Chloe so we secured our Saturday time-slot and in a ironic twist, all the other parents in the water(in the "aqua babies" class where the parents have to be in the water) are all dads. It never occurred to me that the "typical" parental setup would be the opposite of ours so I found that to be pretty funny. It's perfect, though because Chloe is also the only girl in the class and the teacher LOVED her. She kept using Chloe as an example for each thing she was trying to get them to do. They did a lot of stuff in about a 30 minute lesson and I think we were both pretty impressed with how everything went.

I wasn't really able to get good photos of the whole thing as I was in the waiting area outside the pool. I did take a few shots through the glass so I'll share just a few. Have a great weekend~

I'm so proud of me! - Jun 15

So if you aren't one of the ten people that pointed out to me that I miscalculated Chloe being 2 and a half last week, now you can. I was off by a month, but that just means the next thing I am about to tell you is that much more amazing. Heather's birthday was on Wednesday(happy birthday!) and literally on Heather's birthday, Chloe turned a tremendous corner with potty training. Chloe's gift to Heather was that she suddenly decided it was time to use the potty for #1...and she basically skipped using the little trainer potty and just started going on the actual toilet! For about a week she started telling us when she had already gone, and then she started telling us that she had to go so we put her on the toilet and she's been going for the last 2 days without incident. I can't believe it. I mean, we're not getting ahead of ourselves we are still going to keep her in diapers for a bit until we can be sure she's not going to just revert in the middle of the store or something. I'm sure everyone has stories about their kids at this stage having accidents, lol. Anyway, it's huge news for us and maybe a little bit TMI for you.

So, what's with the goggles? Chloe starts swim lessons on Saturday! We have been talking about it for a while and I decided for Heather's birthday to get them signed up so they can do it together! Ever since I came home with the goggles, she has been wearing them around the house like she's hot stuff, lol. Should be interesting and I'm sure I will report back next week with the story. Can't you just hear her saying that??

That's EXACTLY what she was saying when I snapped that picture at Osage Station park just down the road from us. I don't really think we have gone there with Chloe until recently Heather took her there (last weekend?) to play. Add it to the list of parks that she loves and we will frequent from now on I'm sure. It has a cool park for kids her size, a huge sandbox, and I believe what will eventually be some kind of water thing when summer actually gets here. =P

It's Friday June 8th! By all accounts, that makes Chloe officially 2 and a half years old. I. Cannot. Believe. It.
