Getting Ready To Fly! - Oct 14

20161013chloeblog-FJ7C8061

We're packing our bags and getting ready to take off for a rare family vacation destination that does not involve the words "disney" and "land".

I know, right?

It will be the first time in Chloe's life that she will travel via airplane and the flight should be approximately 5 hours of fun. Tomorrow(Saturday) is October 15th and that dates marks the official anniversary of our wedding 10 years ago. Like so many things that have happened in the last 10 years, it just doesn't seem possible that much time has gone by. I can quite vividly remember the events leading up to our wedding and the wedding day itself(while a blur) is still very vivid as well. For our honeymoon, we flew to Hawaii for a couple of days before taking off on a 7 day Hawaiian cruise so yep you guessed it, we are flying to Hawaii.

We are NOT going on a cruise, but we are going to stay near Waikiki beach and try to find a way to relax and enjoy ourselves for 6-7 days on the island of Oahu. The last time Heather and I went to Hawaii it was just after Heather's 30th birthday and we had literally just found out a few days before that she was in fact, pregnant with Chloe. She(Heather) was nauseous and generally sick most of the time but we tried to make the best of it. We kind of chose Oahu for the ease of use with a 6 year old. Food while expensive we should have plenty of options should she choose to be picky. I want to find weird local Hawaiian spots but I'm sure that won't go over well with ..everyone. I actually have no idea what this trip has in store. The best thing about vacation in Hawaii is literally not being obligated to be anywhere or do anything. I imagine much of our time will be spent at the beach or in a pool. Technology has come a very, very long way in the last 7 years so now when we want to find somewhere to go or something to do, we just wave our magic cell phones and information starts to arrive. Cool.

Anyway, Chloe loves to pack whenever we go on trips however she truly does not understand what she wants to bring is not what we are actually going to bring. I let her pack her bag how she wanted but I had to break the news to her that we would not be bringing almost any of it. LOL. So wish us luck on our trip and wish us a happy anniversary if you see us lol. 10 years down, the rest of our lives to go. =)

Have a great weekend, folks~
