Last Friday as you know was the 4th of July. We have been invited the last several years to join in a tradition that some of our friends take part of which is this big block party in the neighborhood which they grew up. It's been a really fun thing every year especially for the kids since they all get to do projects and play together and with life and schedules there just aren't that many times a year when all the kids can see each other. Every year one of the neighbors takes the kids for rides around the court on this big 4 wheeler thing and this year Chloe was (i guess) big enough and brave enough to ask for a turn. She is basically fearless, LOL. Since San Ramon is stupid and they no longer have a fireworks show and fireworks are also completely illegal, we tagged along to my friend Chris's parents house (in Dublin where fireworks are legal). They lit off some random stuff in the street and Chloe got to do some sparklers, what else can you really ask for? =)
The weekend was jam packed although we did manage to spend a little time on Sunday doing some comparison shopping for Chloe on a new bicycle. I'm sure we have been thinking about it for a while but I think my recent blog post kind of sealed the deal. That and on the 4th of July Chloe brought her tricycle to decorate and when she rode it around she looked like a giant driving a smart car. We shopped on Sunday but didn't make a purchase and after a little more research at home we found ourselves back at Toys R Us on Tuesday to take it home. She has been practicing riding it every day although unfortunately they don't call our street "Rolling Hills" for nothin' so it makes it a little difficult but she's getting there. It should be fun and I can't believe we are already at the point of my kid learning how to ride a flippin' bike! Time is a flyin'. =)
