Great Grandma - Feb 24

The other day (and every subsequent day) I must have read this ^^ book to Chloe 2 dozen times. We get to the end, close the book and she immediately points to it and signs "book" (which to her at this point is remarkably similar to clapping her hands together once). Not quite sure the obsession but kids will be kids I suppose.
On a more serious note this last week my Grandmother, Chloe's Great Grandmother, unfortunately passed away. I thought it might be a good opportunity to post some pictures that we took around Thanksgiving that I never ended up sharing of us visiting my Grandma. Unfortunately Chloe will probably never remember my Grandma but I of course have plenty of wonderful memories of time spent with all my Grandparents so my memories and stories will have to do. =)

Chloe has been waking up randomly in the middle of the night but not making any noise. Usually at some point we check on her in the monitor and sometimes we find her sitting up..bobbing her head around as if she is fighting falling asleep. On a few occasions, she has fallen asleep..not sure why she won't lay back down but heather came in the room the other morning to this:

Guitar Pants - Feb 18

This week..let's see..what happened this week? Chloe has gotten better at walking and standing while balancing herself which has created some fun new opportunities for photos. =) She isn't quite sold on the idea of traveling to far on her own yet..so she might go a few feet and then drop down but it's funny to watch her when she figures out she's doing it herself. She gets better every day so we'll see how long until she's off to the races but for now, we're just havin' fun.

Baby Steps - Feb 11

This week as we cross the threshold from 12 to 13 months, Chloe has taken some of her first unassisted steps towards becoming a miniature bull in a china shop. That's my way of saying she's almost walking, lol. I'm hilarious. I'd say in the last two weeks she has been walking around the house holding our hands for support over her head. In fact it's cute she will take our hands and physically push them above her head so she can walk with us as her balance. Within the last few days she started standing/balancing for a few seconds at a time but once she realised she was alone BAM, on the ground. I'm not sure the progression from here but if it's anything like crawling she'll be walking around bumping in to things in the coming weeks. We'll see! =)

Words - Feb 4

Chloe has keyed in to some funny things as her appetite to communicate increases. For like 2 days straight everything was "ball" "baa" "baa?" every time she saw one. It's pretty neat to see her point something out or pick something up and call it by name. She knows way more things by name than she can say but she recognizes a ton of what we say. She is also finally starting to sign back to us some things..we have been doing basic baby sign language for a long time so it's finally starting to pay off. Pretty cool.
So after last week..specifically like 12 hours after I posted how the couch cushions were working as a baby fence..security was breached. First thing Friday morning she crawled right up to those suckers and went right over..no hesitation. Whoops. So this week as a temporary fix we're using a little dog gate. Heather made the comment the other day when she came home for lunch that she felt like she was at a pet store shopping for a puppy because both the dog and the baby were waiting anxiously at the gate. LOL.
